The joy lies in the process, in the moment, and not dependent on other things

🕉️ "Samatvam yoga uchyate"


ie you are in a completely balanced, centered, and stable state when you perform your action, so that you are not attached to the results of your actions, no matter it's success or failure it doesn't affect you at all. (Bhagavad Gita 2.48)


A girl has made dinner for her family. She expects compliments from them...

When they don't give the compliments she expects, she gets hurt, she feels being ignored, she is angry...

She thinks, "I have spent so much time making the dinner and no one appreciate it, I won't do it next time..."


This is not equanimity.


There is expectation from the family for what she has done. She is not simply doing it out of love, joy, enjoyment.


As a yoga practitioner, equanimity is what we need to cultivate.

Such equanimity is called Yoga.


No matter how good we are in a yoga pose we are not in a yogic state if we can't be equanimous.

Yoga is a state, it's about every moment.

It's only when we have no attachment, we are free.

Then our joy lies in the process, in the moment and not dependent on other things.

意指你是在一個完全平衡,集中,穩定的狀態去處事,對於你所做的一切,無論有什麼結果,成功與否,你也欣然接受,不會被任何事情所影響。 (薄伽梵歌2.48)


一個女生為她的家人做了晚飯,她內心暗暗期待着家人的讚賞...

然而,當他們沒有給予她所期待的讚美時,她覺得很受傷,很生氣...

她心裏想:“我花了這麼多時間做了這晚飯,而他們半句讃美的説話也沒有,很無癮,不會有下次了...”


這便是欠缺了平等心。


這女生是期望着家人的讚美,而不是純粹基於愛,享受,喜悦而去做這晚餐。


作為一個瑜伽修行者,我們絕對需要培養平等心。

因為這平等心便是瑜伽。


即使我們在瑜伽體位法中練習得有多好,如果我們欠缺了平等心,我們便不是處於瑜伽的狀態。

瑜伽,是一個狀態,是生活的每一刻。

再者,只有當我們抱有平等心時,我們才自由。

我們不再需要依賴任何人事物,我們在生活中已能感受到喜悅。
